What better way to break in our blog than our favourite trail for Dart? We’ve been sharing random photos and video on Facebook and Instagram, but have decided to branch out into this platform to add a voice to our visuals!
Preservation Park Trails are part of Preservation Park and offer many different activities throughout the green space. For us, the favourite part of the trip consists of starting at the off-leash dog park (off Kortright & Hanlon) that eventually leads into the trail loop. While dogs are recommended to be on-leash during the walk – many people (including us) – leave dogs off-leash as they are well behaved and enjoy the extra free reign in the woods.
NOTE: we did have one dog owner not be happy with us leaving Dart off-leash (no incidents at all – just their own dissatisfaction) during the trail part – always be mindful of others and allow common courtesy if other trail users aren’t comfortable around your pupper.
The Scenery
Here are just some of the areas we were able to capture during our walk (and Dart eventually making his way back onto the leash due to the amount of squirrels as we made our way through):
If you keep an eye open you may find some hidden creations along the way…

Here is the path taken for anyone to do ~5K trek (there are many other routes – lots to explore here):
